2024 Wrapped
As we count down to 2025, it feels like the perfect time to use this blog as a reflection on an incredible year for Red Rose Media & Marketing. Here’s a few highlights of 2024:
It was only three months ago I left my communications role in the NHS after 16 years to take on freelancing full-time as a digital marketer. It was equal parts exciting and terrifying, but looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing.
I’m so grateful to continue collaborating with some of the brands I started working with at the beginning of this year. Their trust in me has been invaluable, and it’s been a privilege to watch their businesses grow.
I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting fantastic new clients—some start-ups finding their feet and others as well-established brands. What’s been truly heartwarming is how they’ve welcomed me as if I’m part of their team.
Running a business has been a crash course in everything. From handling big personalities and explaining the value of my advice to sending my first big invoice (and feeling like an imposter!), this year has been full of challenges. But with every hurdle, I’ve gained confidence and refined my services and processes and mastered my business management skills along the way.
There’s nothing quite like seeing content you’ve worked hard on bloom. The positive feedback I’ve received—whether from clients or their audiences—has been a reminder of why I do what I do.
Balancing client work, promoting my own business, and tackling all the admin hasn’t been easy, but I’ve embraced the challenge. Yes, even the admin!
I’ve also quickly realised the importance of networking. Meeting like-minded business owners and sharing experiences has been a huge value. I’ll admit I was nervous the first time I attended one. The beauty is, they aren’t spaces to just find new clients and promote yourself - it’s about understanding what people need, learning from their experiences, and growing together as business owners.
My one-year anniversary event was the highlight of the year. Seeing family, friends, and clients all in one room was such a buzz. My aim has always been to stay true to myself, and this celebration felt so humble and right.
And let’s not forget the little wins, like feeling all “official” with my new branded merch!
Planning for 2025 is still a work in progress—there are plenty of ideas buzzing in my head that need to be written down. Prioritising them will come soon (once I catch up from Christmas!).
In case you’re new here, Red Rose Media & Marketing is my freelance business dedicated to helping small businesses raise their online profiles, engage their audiences, and deliver effective digital marketing strategies. This year, I updated my brand name to include "& Marketing" to better reflect the range of services I offer.
To everyone who’s supported me this year—clients, friends, family, and all the connections I’ve made—thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Here’s to an even better 2025.
